Christina Pelliccio — President & Director of Outreach and Marketing
University of California, Berkeley C’24
Christina is a college sophomore from Berryville, Virginia studying Society & Environment at UC Berkeley. She has always had a huge passion for the environment, and joined ThinkOcean in order to help draw attention to important environmental issues and empower this generation’s youth to create change.
In high school, Christina became involved in the environmental sphere through research and her district’s environmental advisory committee. She has interned at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science conducting research on juvenile blue crabs in the Chesapeake, and the George Mason University Potomac Science Center doing research on aquatic worms! As a board member on the Mount Vernon District Environmental Advisory Committee, she has helped carry out environmental initiatives in her community such as implementing glass recycling bins and hosting an annual environmental expo. She was also the President of her high school’s Science National Honor Society, as well as the founder and President of her high school’s Science Olympiad team.
At Berkeley, Christina has continued being involved in the environmental community through a few different clubs and organizations. She is a staff writer and the Internal Affairs Director for the Undergraduate Environmental Journal of Berkeley, the Co-President of Berkeley’s chapter of Citizen’s Climate Lobby, and a student leader for the Student Environmental Resource Center. She also works as a Policy Assistant at the Center for Environmental Health, an environmental nonprofit in California, where she manages policy sign-ons and works on the Prop 65 campaign.
Outside of school and clubs, Christina spends her free time reading, painting, listening to music, playing with her dog, and doing anything outdoors like hiking, running, and kayaking!
