ThinkOcean World Map
Since its inception in 2017, ThinkOcean has reached tens of thousands around the world with its mission of empowering youth to protect our planet’s ocean and environment. It has brought together a multitude of organisations, projects, and people to help enhance and expand public awareness and spur discourse about what's happening to our seas.
Our networks at a glance:
More than 90% of ThinkOcean’s members are students between the ages of 18-25.
Although most ThinkOcean chapters are based in universities, the impact of our work has reached communities beyond the confines of a school campus.
Although ThinkOcean boasts numerous members with extensive experience in environmental advocacy, many students have taken their first such steps with us. Many of our members also work with other youth, environmental, or advocacy organizations in addition to their work with ThinkOcean.
ThinkOcean’s decentralized structure has allowed our networks to develop their own organizational models based on local needs and contexts. Not only does this create interesting opportunities for learning and adapting, it enables our members to exercise leadership at various levels.
Among ThinkOcean's several efforts, we have brought hundreds of volunteers from varied networks together to clean over 20 beaches across the world.
