ThinkOcean is a pioneering grassroots non-profit organization. Established in 2017 by our founder Ben May, ThinkOcean expanded to become one of the world’s largest youth-led ocean action networks. Our network is built on the premise of empowering young people as the current and future leaders of our society. We are unwaveringly committed to engaging youth and tackling the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, with a particular focus on championing ocean-related issues and translating awareness into action.

At ThinkOcean, we believe that ocean education is a crucial component in addressing environmental issues, especially for young people. We recognize that ocean education is often overlooked in many education systems, and there is a lack of accessible and adequate ocean education content created by youth, for youth. As a result, we strive relentlessly to fill this void by developing and providing accessible, engaging, and relevant ocean education content.

We achieve this through a multidimensional approach. Our work includes curating and disseminating compelling content, conducting interactive webinars and workshops, spearheading beach clean-ups and conservation drives, and forging partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals who share our vision.

By utilizing our extensive network, which spans across 4 continents, we can bring awareness to environmental issues that are not only prevalent in our own backyards but also on a global scale. We spread awareness, spur discourse, and take action to protect our ocean and planet.

We bring together a multitude of organizations, projects, and people to help enhance and expand public awareness about what’s happening to our seas. We firmly believe in the power of collaboration and work with like-minded individuals and groups to achieve our mission. Our goal is to inspire and empower young people to be catalysts for change in their communities and beyond.
